Arrived safely after about 20 hours from leaving home, it was good flight over apart from sitting next to a 6'4" Mr Bean look alike who muttered about 10 words in the whole trip. He twiched violently when asleep and suffered from (don't know what to do with these legs syndrome, I will just stick them over by you!)

Mind you he suffered from me, I managed to knock over my full glass of red wine on to my lap and stunk of 'Virgin airline's house red' for the rest of the journey.

I managed to sneak to the loo on flight and discreetly put on my DVT black stockings and now have from the knee down, skinny legs that look like twigs and from the knees up I now look like an inflated marigold glove!

Arrived by ferry to Lamma island which has no cars only bicycles and walkers and lots of tiny shops and restaurants.

Internet working and great to have the skype working too,shame that the new web cam doesn't work on skype. Nice to chat with the family but ready to crash and get some sleep now.

 

May 1st. Saturday.

Had a good night and not to hot here a bit overcast, nice to open the patio doors onto the balcony and hear the sea directly below.I am planning on getting the ferry to the main land at about 2pm and get my bearings, visit the New Age Shop and introduce myself before putting flyers out and then giving my introductory talk tonight.. Talk went really well and had a lot of interested people asking questions afterwards, strange how some people came in late but everyone wants to finish bang on time.

 

May 2nd Sunday

Did two appointments today at the shop, it takes about 50 mins to get there from the hotel roomas the ferry ride is about 30mins. Hong Kong central is a funny mix of people and buildings, you have parts that are like old shanty town and then shops with designer label clothes. On the walk from the pier to the shop I walk through the posh mall,on the walkway up to it there are old and young men sat shirtless with terrible scar tissue from burns of limbs missing, they sit and bow as people walk by waiting for money. The HK people seem to ignore them but the tourists offer them change.

I was shocked to see hundreds of Philipina women all sat on cardboard with picnics and playing cards on Sunday and Monday, this is how they socialise on their days off from maid work. Strange seeing these women andjust a couple of men and no children
